Soundproof Flooring System and Installation

Applying soundproofing treatments to flooring has two distinct methods of application, this depends on the type of floor. For Timber Flooring, ensuring a mineral wool is applied beneath the Ply / OSB or MDF board is essential. For Concrete, flanking is a much more apparent issue which has to be resolved before applying any treatment.

For Direct to Concrete:

• Apply the under screed directly to the concrete with an appropriate adhesive.

• Before a further Concrete application ensure a perimeter strip is encased around the perimeter overlapping the top. This way any Skirting board or Plasterboard from the adjoining wall has a flanking barrier from vibration / impact noise.
